How do I clean my filter?

Click through to our cleaning page on this website where you will find pdf’s on how to clean every type of filter that we manufacture.
------------------------------------------------------------

How often should I clean my filter?

This depends on the filter you have purchased and the conditions you are using them.

Pro Filter WB panel filters never required to be cleaned, just regularly wiped with a lint free cloth at service intervals.

Pro Filter BH cylindrical filters will need to be cleaned and re oiled once a year.

Megaflow and Maxogen filters that are exposed without protection in the engine bay, fitted either directly to carburettors/throttle bodies or to air flow meters, will need regular inspection every other month to make sure that they are still in well oiled condition. Depending on where they are situated and how much work they have to do will depend on how many times a year you will have to wash and re oil them. We would suggest that due to their close proximity to the engine and the possibility of the oil drying out through the air flow and radiant heat that they are cleaned on a regular 6 monthly basis or more frequently depending on how much use or how dirty they get.

What filter should I use for my car?

If you a looking just to replace your existing filter that sits inside the OE housing then you should consider our Pro Filter range. These filters offer better flow at low engine speeds and so will offer improvements to throttle response, torque and fuel consumption over the original paper element. They will not offer you increases in peak horsepower due to the restriction placed on the engine on the size of the pipes/ducting that takes the air to the filter as these are designed at the size they are by the manufacturer to reduce noise and emissions.

Do you want an induction kit to replace your OE airbox and produce more power? Whilst itg make a large range of Maxogen® remote filters, when these are fitted directly to or close by airflow meters they will suck in a great deal of hot air. So despite sounding loud your car will in fact lose power compared to the original manufacturer system unless the remote filter is shielded in some way from the radiant heat produced by the engine and can receive a good supply of ambient air externally from the car. We produce a range of top quality high performance intake systems where the filter is protected from the heat of the engine bay by fitting it inside an air box and providing it with a supply of ambient air to improve internal combustion inside your engine. The improvement in power can be as much as a 10% improvement in peak power or by as much as 12bhp.

If you are looking to use a filter onto carburettors or throttle bodies then our Megaflow range is the filter you are looking for.
